How Do I Transfer A Website To Another Account?

Send a transfer offer by email from the website's Transfer page; the recipient has 7 days to accept, and their plan must have room - a free website slot, enough storage, and custom domain or password features if the site uses them. Purchased domains do not move - they are disconnected and stay with you. Unpublished drafts are deleted.

Updated

A transfer hands a website to another OxyPages account for good. From the website's Transfer page, send an offer to the recipient's email address. They have 7 days to accept, and only an account signed in with that exact email can accept it. You can cancel the offer any time before then, and the recipient can decline.

Once accepted, the website is theirs - it leaves your account entirely, and both of you get a confirmation email.

The Recipient's Plan Must Fit

The transfer is checked against the recipient's plan when they accept. They need:

  • A free website slot
  • Enough pooled storage for the site
  • Custom domain support on their plan, if the site has a custom domain
  • Password protection on their plan, if the site has a password set

If any of these fail, the recipient sees why and can upgrade or make room before accepting again.

What Moves And What Does Not

Moves with the website: its published files, versions, form entries, media, settings and clone links. Collaborators stay attached and keep working - except the recipient, who stops being a collaborator because they are now the owner.

Does not move:

  • Purchased domains - a domain bought through OxyPages stays your property and keeps billing you. It is disconnected from the website when the transfer completes. Domains can be transferred separately - see the domain transfer article.
  • Unpublished drafts - any Code Editor draft is deleted by the transfer. Publish first if the draft matters.

After the transfer, the website runs on the new owner's plan - their storage, their features, their form email allowance.

Did this answer it? If not, email support@oxypages.com with your website address and what you expected to happen.
