Campaign Details

We add https:// if you leave it off. Anything already on the link - a query string, a #section - is kept.

Channel presets

A preset fills source and medium together. Medium is the one people guess: it decides which channel the visit is reported under, so cpc, email, social and qr have to be spelled the way the report expects.

Where the click came from: newsletter, facebook, partner name.

What kind of marketing it was. This decides the channel report.

The promotion these links belong to. Same name on every link.

The paid keyword, for search ads. Leave empty otherwise.

Which link it was: header-button, footer-link, carousel-1.

The campaign ID from your ad platform, if you use one.

A tagged link is exactly the kind nobody can type. Put this on the flyer and the visit still lands in the campaign report.

How It Works

How To Use The UTM Builder

  1. 1

Paste The Page You Are Linking To

Drop in the destination URL. Anything already on it - a query string, a #section - is kept, and https:// is added if you leave it off.

  2. 2

Pick A Preset And Name The Campaign

One click fills source and medium correctly for email, social, a paid ad, an affiliate or a QR code on print. Type the campaign name and the builder flags capital letters, spaces and parameters the link already carries, each with a button that fixes it.

  3. 3

Copy It, Save It Or Publish The Set

Copy the tagged link, download its QR code as PNG or SVG, add it to the list so a whole campaign can be checked side by side, then export the list as CSV or publish it as a share page for the team.

About This Tool

A UTM Builder That Catches The Mistakes Nobody Notices

Tagged campaign URLs that Google Analytics reads correctly, a list you can check for consistency, and a QR code for the printed version.

A UTM link is an ordinary web address with five or six extra parameters bolted onto the end. Analytics reads those parameters and files the visit under a campaign instead of lumping it in with everyone who typed the address themselves. This campaign URL builder asks for the destination and the fields, assembles the link properly, and shows you the result as you type.

Who It Is For

Anyone sending a link somewhere they want to measure: a newsletter, a paid ad, a partner site, a poster in a shop window. You do not need to know what the UTM parameters mean to use it - the channel presets fillutm_source and utm_medium together, which is the pairing people get wrong most often. Medium is the field that decides which channel report a visit lands in, so an email tagged medium=newsletter instead of medium=email disappears from the email numbers entirely.

What It Does That Most UTM Generators Do Not

The destination is parsed as a real URL rather than glued together with a question mark, so a page that already has ?ref=partner and a #section anchor keeps both and the tags go where they belong. It also watches for the three mistakes that break a report without breaking the link: capital letters, because Facebook and facebook are counted as two separate sources; spaces, which turn into plus signs and get cut in half when the link is pasted into a document; and UTM parameters already sitting on the destination, which quietly overwrite yours. Each warning comes with a one-click fix, and the saved list points out when the same campaign is spelled two ways across your links.

How It Works, And Its Limits

Everything runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, the saved list lives in this browser only (so it will not follow you to another device, and a private window forgets it), and the QR code is drawn locally. The builder cannot tell you whether a name is right for your account - only whether it is consistent with the other links in front of it - and it cannot shorten a link for you. Need the code on its own, with colours and a size? Use the QR Code Generator. Building the landing page these links point at? The Link In Bio Generator makes one.

Publish The List For Your Team

Publish A Share Page turns the saved links into a single page - a table of every link with its campaign fields, and the QR code of the main one - on a live OxyPages address with HTTPS, in seconds and without an account. The link lasts 30 minutes unless you claim it, and claiming is free; from there you can pick your own address and, on a paid plan, put it on a custom domain. It beats a screenshot in a chat thread: whoever opens it can copy the exact strings. See how it works.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Source is the named place the click came from (newsletter, facebook, a partner's name), medium is the kind of marketing it was (email, social, cpc, qr), and campaign is the promotion the link belongs to. Analytics needs all three before it reports a visit as a campaign rather than as direct traffic.
