Markdown is how most of us write now: README files, notes, documentation, blog drafts, the answer an AI assistant just gave you. Browsers do not render it, though. How it works

Everything runs in your browser. The converter follows GitHub-flavoured Markdown, so tables, task lists, strikethrough, fenced code blocks and automatic links all come through. The preview renders inside a sandboxed frame with scripts disabled, so pasting something unfamiliar cannot run code on this page. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to publish.

The HTML you copy is the clean output of the parser, with language classes on code blocks, so it drops into an existing template without fighting your stylesheet. Leave "Wrap in full HTML document" on and you get a complete page instead: doctype, viewport meta, a title taken from your first heading, and a short embedded stylesheet with a readable measure, bordered tables and grey code blocks. That full version is exactly what the preview shows, and it is what the publish button sends.

Limits

Code blocks are not syntax highlighted, to keep the output free of dependencies. Raw HTML inside your Markdown is passed through untouched, as GitHub does, so check the preview if you mix the two. If you want to tidy the generated markup further, the HTML formatter will indent it, and the HTML viewer will render any HTML file you already have.
